Urban renewal in Granville and
the Parramatta Road Corridor
Planning Ingenuity provided an independent assessment of an Integrated Development Application for Parramatta City Council. The capital investment value of the project exceeded $160 million and proposes a mixed use development with 618 residential apartments, 12 commercial tenancies, a new public park and publicly accessible through-site link, adaptive re-use of a heritage item and extensive re-construction of the public domain and interface across three street frontages. The development is one of the first within the Granville Urban Renewal Precinct targeted by the SEPP Urban Renewal and the Parramatta Road Urban Transformation Strategy. The development assessment process included input from Council’s specialist staff dealing with stormwater and flooding, urban design, traffic and parking, heritage, landscaping, public art, social outcomes and the Design Excellence Advisory Panel.
